I was watching my share of serial programme episodes. Indulge, yup ;p
Engrossed in the story line,
The lead actor and the lead actress, a married couple, were negotiating the terms of their divorce. Belonging to affluent backgrounds and their families, the husband was prepared to agree to any monetary expensive compensations towards his”ex-wife” to-be.
The lady, also an affluent person, told him off on one of their meetings, “I do not need all these expensive items, properties, cars, or whatsoever from you. I can get whatever I want!”
The husband then got very angry and tired of the whole affair, he told her angrily that he will let the lawyer settle everything since she wasn’t willing to be forthcoming and tell him what settlements she want.
The wife then said to him (before he stormed off), “Why don’t you think carefully what I want?! Then u come back and tell me?!”
The husband walked off and said to contact his lawyer….
(I took screenwriting classes for a short while, and thought I’d put my learning from the classes to some good use… perhaps you could assess me and tell me whether I would pass the exam? ;p)
Following the script from where we left off,…
Scene in….
The man and wife meets again.
He asks: “Have you decided what you really want?”
She then wipes her cheeks and looks intently into his eyes, sobbing, she says to him, “Return me our ten years…”
Taken aback, he says, “I may have neglected you in the recent years, while focusing on my business. But, I have never cheated on you, this I have to reiterate! I was always busy with work! I am sorry that I wasted your youth! We were so much in love when we got married, things changed, I am sorry…”
She looked him in the eyes, “IF you really love me, you would stay on for another 10 years of loving me and making our marriage work….”
